Engagements

Understand your engagements, navigate between them, and track the request workflow.

Overview

Engagements in Agentive are how your audit work is organized. Each engagement represents a specific audit period and scope (for example, a "2024 Financial Statement Audit"). Your audit team creates and manages engagements, and invites you to participate.

You'll be invited to one or more engagements. Each engagement contains the information requests your audit team needs you to complete.

What is an Engagement?

An engagement is a collaborative workspace where:

  • Your audit team creates information requests for documents and supporting materials
  • You and your team respond by uploading files, adding comments, and providing context
  • Everyone tracks progress through different workflow stages (To Do, In Review, Done)
  • Due dates and priorities help you stay on schedule

Organized by period

Each engagement covers a specific time period (e.g., fiscal year 2024).

Contains requests

All information requests for that audit are grouped in one place.

Team collaboration

Both your team and the audit team work together in the engagement.

Categorized work

Requests are organized by audit areas like Revenue, Expenses, Cash, etc.

Engagement Structure

Each engagement includes:

ComponentDescription
RequestsInformation requests from your audit team requiring documents or data
CategoriesAudit areas (Revenue, A/R, Payroll, etc.) that organize requests
Due DatesTarget completion dates set by your audit team
PrioritiesUrgency levels (Urgent, High, Medium, Low) assigned to each request

Team MembersYour colleagues and the audit team who have access to the engagement

Your audit team configures the engagement structure. You focus on responding to requests and collaborating with your team.

Request Workflow

Understanding how requests flow through the engagement helps you know what actions to take:

To Do

Requests that are ready for you to work on. Your audit team has prepared these requests and is waiting for your response.

Your actions:

  • Review the request details
  • Upload requested documents
  • Add comments or questions
  • Assign to a team member if needed

In Review

Requests you've completed and submitted for audit team review. You've provided the requested information.

Your actions:

  • Move requests here when you've uploaded files and provided all requested information
  • Wait for your audit team to review and either approve or return them

Returned

Requests your audit team has sent back because they need additional information, clarification, or different documents.

Your actions:

  • Review the audit team's comments to understand what's needed
  • Provide the additional information or corrected documents
  • Move back to "In Review" when ready

Done

Requests your audit team has approved and closed. No further action needed.

Your actions:

  • None—these requests are complete!

Your audit team moves requests from "In Review" to either "Done" (approved) or "Returned" (needs revision).
