Comments
Communicate with your audit team, use @mentions, and follow best practices for collaboration.
Overview
Comments are where you communicate with your audit team about each request—ask questions, provide context for uploaded files, and keep everyone informed.
Comments are visible to everyone on the engagement—both your team and the audit team. Use them for transparent, collaborative communication.

Confirmation
Your comment appears immediately in the activity feed. Your audit team receives a notification.
Comments create a permanent record. They're especially valuable for explaining context that might not be obvious from the documents alone.
Using @Mentions
Tag specific people to ensure they see your comment and get notified.
How to @Mention
Type the @ symbol
In the comment field, type @ followed by the person's name (no space after @).
Select from the dropdown
A list of team members appears. Click on the person you want to mention, or use arrow keys and press Enter.
Complete your comment
The mention appears as a highlighted name (e.g., @Sarah Johnson). Finish writing your comment and submit.
Example comment:
@Sarah Johnson can you pull the vendor invoices from the AP system for these selections? They should all be in October's batch.
Who You Can @Mention
- Your team members — Anyone from your organization on the engagement
- Audit team members — Your auditors and their support staff
When you @mention someone, they receive an email notification and an in-app notification (if enabled), ensuring they see your message even if they're not actively viewing the request.
When to Use @Mentions
Direct questions
Ask a specific auditor for clarification about what's needed.
Delegation
Assign work to a teammate by @mentioning them with instructions.
Important updates
Ensure someone sees a critical update about the request.
Escalations
Loop in a manager or senior team member when needed.
Replying to Comments
Create threaded conversations by replying directly to specific comments.
Find the comment
Locate the comment you want to reply to in the activity feed.
Click the reply button
Hover over the comment and click the Reply button or link (typically appears on the right side of the comment).
Write your reply
A reply field appears below the original comment. Type your response.
Submit the reply
Click Reply or Send. Your reply appears indented beneath the original comment, creating a thread.
Benefits of threads:
- Keeps related conversation together
- Makes it easy to follow specific discussion topics
- Prevents the activity feed from becoming cluttered
Use threaded replies instead of creating new top-level comments when responding to a question or continuing a specific discussion.
