Creating Clients
Learn the process for creating a new client, setting up an initial engagement, and managing client details within the Argentive platform.
Accessing and Adding a New Client
To begin, you must navigate to the client management section on your dashboard.
- Locate the Client List: On the left-hand toolbar, you will find a list of all firm clients.
- Initiate Client Creation: At the top of the "Firm Clients" section, click the (+) button labeled "Add New Client."
- Enter Client Details: * Client Name: Enter the name of the organization (e.g., Murphy's Dressers).
- External ID (Optional): If you use external binder software, you can insert a corresponding ID here for cross-referencing.
- Finalize: Click the Create button.
Setting Up an Engagement
Immediately after creating a client, the system will prompt you to define their first audit engagement.
- Engagement Name: Provide a descriptive title (e.g., Financial Audit 2024).
- Identifier: Set a unique short-code identifier. This prefix will appear before every task number within this specific engagement.
- Audit Period: Select the date range that the audit will cover.
- Save Engagement: Click Create to finish. The client will now appear in your firm's sidebar list.
Managing and Editing Clients
Once a client is established, you can update their information or remove them as needed.
- Viewing Client Details: Hover over the client’s name in the sidebar, click the three dots, and select View Client. This page displays all active engagements, team members, and client members.
- Editing a Client: From the "View Client" screen, click the Edit Client button in the top right corner to update the name or External ID.
- Deleting a Client: To permanently remove a client and all associated engagements, click the three dots next to the client's name at the top of the page and select Delete Client.
Critical Warning
- Permanent Deletion: Deleting a client is an irreversible action. It will permanently remove the client profile and all associated engagements and task data.
