Rolling Forward an Existing Engagement

Learn how to roll forward an audit engagement to a new period or a different client to reuse established workflows and tasks rather than starting from scratch.

Method 1: Engagement Context Menu

Access Engagement Options

  1. Locate the navigation bar at the top of the screen displaying the Client Name and Engagement.
  2. Click the Three-dot menu icon.
  3. Select Roll Forward from the dropdown list.

Method 2: Global Add Menu

Open the Add Request Window

  1. Navigate to the + icon located to the right of the firm's logo.
  2. Select the Roll Forward an Engagement option from the list.

Configuring Destination and Audit Period

Review Source Engagement

  1. Confirm the selected Client and Engagement under the Source section.

[!CAUTION] Roll forward the engagement prior to completing the archive process or deleting the current audit.

Select Destination Client

  1. Under the Destination section, select the target Client from the dropdown menu.

[!TIP] You can roll forward an engagement from a similar client to a new one to use it as a jumping-off point for similar workflows.

Define Engagement Identity and Period

  1. Enter the new engagement Name (e.g., 2026 Copy) and Identifier into the respective text fields.
  2. Click the Calendar icons under Audit Period to redefine the start and end dates for the new engagement.

Preview and Finalize

  1. Review the Preview pane to verify the list of requests and tasks being rolled forward.
  2. Click Create to generate the new engagement.
